My stay at the Charleston Marriott was quite pleasant overall. The lobby and common areas were beautifully designed, which made a great first impression. However, I did encounter some issues with the shuttle service and the breakfast experience that were a bit disappointing. The friendly staff and clean rooms, though, definitely raised my spirits during my visit.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were clean and comfortable, featuring a nice king-sized bed, although they felt a bit dated. The bathroom was quite small, which was less than ideal.
Service
10.0
The staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Sid, in particular, offered fantastic service, ensuring I had all the necessary information for my stay.
Location
5.0
The hotel is located about 5 miles outside downtown Charleston, which was convenient for exploring. However, the shuttle service to downtown costs $6 per person, which I found quite pricey for such a short distance.
Dining
5.0
While the breakfast buffet offered a good variety, my experience at the restaurant was disappointing due to disorganization and missing silverware.
Facilities
5.0
The lobby and common areas were well-maintained, and the indoor pool was a nice touch. However, my experience with the bar led to confusion over the pricing of my drinks.

5.2/10

I had a pleasant stay at the Charleston Marriott, appreciating both the comfortable and clean room as well as the friendly staff. However, I did find it a bit inconvenient that the hotel is a little further from downtown than I realized, and there were a few hiccups with the front desk service that detracted from my overall experience.

Rooms
9.0
The room was very nice and clean, with comfortable bedding and a balcony that offered a beautiful view of the harbor and the Charleston bridge. However, there was initially a bit of an issue with the heat not working properly but it was resolved quickly by maintenance.
Service
7.0
While most of the staff, like Kris at the front desk, were friendly and helpful, I noticed some inconsistencies in communication, particularly regarding my room readiness and valet service.
Location
7.0
The location wasn't as close to downtown as I initially thought, but the shuttle service to the "midtown" area made it manageable for exploring. It’s a bit of a trek if you prefer walking, but the city itself is quite walkable.
Dining
6.0
The dining options included breakfast at a reasonable price, which I found to be ample and tasty. However, the offerings in the concierge lounge were quite limited, not meeting expectations, especially compared to other hotels I've stayed at.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel had excellent facilities, including a well-resourced fitness center. Unfortunately, I was disappointed about the rooftop bar being closed for the season during my stay.

5.0/10

I had a pleasant two-night stay at the Charleston Marriott. The lobby was gorgeous with its upscale design, and the staff provided really good service throughout my visit. While my room was clean and comfortable, it did feel a bit dated. The wait times for the elevators were frustrating, especially with one out of service. Overall, it was a nice experience with some areas for improvement.

Rooms
8.0
My king room was clean and spacious, yet it felt a bit dated and in need of a refresh. Housekeeping did a great job maintaining it.
Service
9.0
The staff exemplified excellent customer service, particularly when they helped me quickly move to a different room after my initial request was misunderstood. They were friendly and eager to assist throughout my stay.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located conveniently close to downtown Charleston, making it easy to venture out and explore. However, I did find it to be farther from the main attractions than I initially expected, but the area was still walkable.
Dining
6.0
The on-site restaurant had good offerings, but I found the buffet breakfast lacking compared to other places I've stayed. However, I did enjoy dinner there, which was high quality.
Facilities
8.0
Many great amenities, including a well-maintained fitness center and the lovely lobby area. The indoor pool was inviting, making it a great break during my stay.

6.2/10

I had a good stay at the Charleston Marriott, where the service truly set the tone for my experience. The hotel was clean and featured a stunning lobby that made a great first impression. However, I felt that the location was a bit removed from the bustling downtown area, which required a shuttle or an Uber to reach the excitement. Overall, it was a comfortable experience with a few minor drawbacks.

Rooms
6.0
My room was clean and comfortable, although the bathroom was rather basic and showed some signs of wear. I appreciated the upkeep of the bedding, but there could be more updates to really elevate the room experience.
Service
10.0
The staff were really good, particularly Imani, Andrea, and Trelonta, who went above and beyond to help throughout my stay. Their warmth and friendliness made me feel welcomed and catered to every need I had.
Location
6.0
While the hotel is conveniently close to downtown Charleston, it's still a mile or two away from the more lively restaurants and bars. The shuttle service was helpful but came with a fee that felt unnecessary when there are free options nearby.
Dining
8.0
I enjoyed a delicious burger at the hotel restaurant, and though I didn't try the full breakfast, the coffee and muffins were a nice start to my morning. The dining options offered a solid variety and good quality.
Facilities
7.0
The indoor pool area was clean and inviting, making it a nice spot for relaxation. However, I found the overall amenities, including the fitness center, to be adequate but not excellent.

5.2/10

I had a mixed experience at the Charleston Marriott. The ambiance of the lobby was stunning and the customer service was really good, but unfortunately, my room had visible issues like water damage and mold. Overall, while some aspects were appealing, the accommodation itself left a lot to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
My room was small and showed signs of neglect, with water damage on the ceiling and black mold around the windows. The decor felt outdated, which was disappointing.
Service
8.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always willing to help with recommendations and ensuring I had what I needed during my stay. This really enhanced my overall experience.
Location
6.0
The hotel is a bit further from downtown than I expected, but it’s not a long walk. It's situated near a park, which was a nice spot to unwind. It does seem to be amid construction, bringing a less appealing view.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast offerings were decent but I found out there wasn't a full breakfast included, which was a bit of a letdown. I appreciated the coffee and snack options available though.
Facilities
7.0
The fitness center was well-equipped and maintained, which I enjoyed. However, the state of the room felt far from polished, affecting my overall impression of the facilities.
